#3 – California Grass @ $4
California Grass looked good when winning consecutive races last preparation, so we’re prepared to forgive her most recent effort.
She finished seventh at Goulburn in a disappointing display, but that came over an unsuitable distance.
Her odds have drifted to an each-way price, so we’re taking the value.
#13 – Razella @ $2.05
Razella has posted three placings from four starts this preparation, and she deserves a winning turn.
The three-year-old filly by Hellbent is a four-time placegetter overall, and getting into the race with 55kg on her back is ideal.
We expect her odds to firm to around $1.80 on race day.
#8 – Jared @ $2.60
Jared is getting desperately close this season after posting four placings, so stick with him.
He has been facing good maiden fields as well, so he should find this easier, and that’s why money has come for him.
Take the odds before the firm.
#8 – Equipage @ $3.60
The James Cummings-trained filly is better for having had two starts, and it’s time to show her best.
She ran third fresh up at Kembla Grange in heavy conditions, so getting on better ground should help her chances.
That followed some tidy trial efforts, so she has ability at this level.

#7 – Juelene @ $7
Juelene has been around the mark throughout her career, including two second placings from eight starts.
She ran second at Sale two starts back, and we’re using that as the best form guide for this open maiden race.
She only needs a touch of luck from the wide barrier.
#2 – Bigcat @ $4.40
Bigcat did well to run fifth on debut at Echuca as a $2.50 favourite, so there was good betting support.
Punters get better odds this time around, and there is no reason to jump off his back based on one run.
Barrier three is ideal and we’re happy with the each-way odds available.
#6 – Flip the Switch @ $2.60
Flip the Switch has shown good ability throughout her career, including a win fresh up last preparation at Bairnsdale.
The four-year-old mare having winning experience at the track is ideal, and she could hit the ground running this preparation.
Most of the early money has come for the favourite, so include her.
#6 – Hillcrest Moses @ $4.60
Hillcrest Moses is only a three-time winner from 41 starts, but he has been getting close recently.
The seven-year-old son of Moshe has yet to race at Bairnsdale, so the new environment could work in his favour.
We’re happy to take the each-way odds.
