Why we love it: Swedish retailer Ikea has teamed up with Finnish design and fashion brand Marimekko for a cool limited-edition collaboration.
Set to launch in Canadian Ikea stores, as well as online, in March, the collection includes 25 products ranging from textiles such as robes and floor cushions to furniture and glassware, each featuring the brand’s trademark vibrant prints.
“Collaborating with Marimekko was a natural choice for Ikea as we are both committed to enabling a better everyday life at home, and with the Bastua collection, it begins with focusing on wellness first,” Henrik Most, creative leader at IKEA, said in a news release. “The collaboration encapsulates the sensations of endless summers and the simple and aesthetic beauty of Nordic nature in furniture and accessories for the home.”
The collection is named after a term used to describe sauna in the Southern Sweden region where Ikea was founded, Småland.
